Here, I am guiding you with 2 methods that can help you install Windows 10. The only difference between the two methods is, the way they download and make the USB bootable. While the only similarity they have is that, they both help in installing Windows 10.

1. Creating a Bootable drive for Windows 10

There is more than one way we can create a bootable drive to install Windows 10. I will be sharing two methods of which you can refer to anyone of them.

Media Creation Tool

Windows has launched its own Media Creation Tool that can help you upgrade your OS or install a new OS by creating a bootable device. Plug the USB drive inside the PC/Laptop while following the steps mentioned below:

  • Download the Media Creation Tool from here.

  • Install & open the Software now.
  • Once launched, the software will show the What do you want to do? dialog box.

  • Choose to Create installation media and press the Next button.
  • In the next window, choose the options according to your choices & again press Next.

  • Then choose USB flash drive, in the Choose which media to use? dialog box.

  • Let the system do the rest and inform you.

After the system makes the USB device bootable, you are ready to install Windows 10 on your PC. But before I explain to you about how we are going to do that, you should read about the Rufus software. The software helps you not only makes a Windows but all OS bootable drive.

Rufus Software

Rufus is free software that allows you to create a bootable drive that will help you install an OS to any PC you want. The software has an easy interface to understand and occupies very low size from your storage. Keep in mind to insert the USB device while following the steps mentioned below:

  • Download the Windows 10 iso file.
  • Now, download the Rufus software from the link.

  • Install & launch the software.
  • Choose the USB drive by clicking on the Device section.
  • Press the select option and choose the downloaded Windows 10 iso file.

  • Make all the other changes similar to the image shown.
  • Click on the Start button
  • Press OK to confirm.

Now, you have created the USB bootable with the setup of Windows 10 and you are ready to install Windows 10 in your Laptop or PC. Remember that the outcome of using the Media Creation Tool & the Rufus software is the same i.e. to create a Windows 10 bootable USB device. 2. Installing Windows 10

Now you need to restart your PC and open the Boot menu in your system to start the installation of Windows 10. You can use either F2 or F8 button on the keyboard to enter the Boot Menu. You can google and find which button gets you to boot menu for the brand you are using.

Once you are inside the boot menu, follow the steps below to start installing Windows 10:

  • First, make sure you are in the Legacy mode and not in Secure Boot or UEFI mode.

  • In the Legacy boot, choose the open USB Storage Device.

  • Now, go to EXIT menu and Restart your computer after saving the settings.
  • After Restart, the Windows Installation window will be displayed.
  • Choose the language and other details & press Next.

  • Then, press Install Now to start the installation.
  • Choose the suitable options, when prompted.

After completing these steps, the Windows 10 will be installed in your PC and you can have all the features of Windows 10. Now just remove the USB device and restart your PC once to confirm that the Windows 10 is installed on your PC or laptop perfectly.
